On Wednesday, March 27, the 27th annual professional meeting for railway administrators, investors, designers and builders took place in the O2 Universum hall in Prague. Vladimír Král presented the optimization of the line Mstětice – Praha-Vysočany, which was completed at the end of last year, led by division 3. Subterra has been one of the long-term main partners of the conference.
On Tuesday, March 12, the Prague Transport Forum took place in the Hall of Architects at the Old Town Hall. The conference, with Subterra as one of the main sponsors, focused on transport infrastructure, means of transport and technologies. Jiří Tesař, Commercial Director, gave a presentation about Subterra’s 60 years and the company’s major projects in Prague.
This year in September, it will be sixty years since the first blast at the excavation of the water supply feeder Želivka – which marked the beginning of the company Subterra. From a company, that focused on underground constructions, Subterra has evolved into a multidisciplinary construction company with five divisions. The anniversary is commemorated with a logo featuring the number 60, and the main motif of the campaign is a mosaic made of more than four thousand photos of constructions, machines, and employees.
At the construction site of the first section of the Prague metro D Pankrác-Olbrachtova, which is being carried out by an international consortium led by division 5, on Thursday January 11, the blasting of the second top heading of a U-turn tunnel took place behind the station Pankrác D. The gradual blasting of all the explosives from the core till the contour of the excavation caused a light effect. Each detonator was timed according to the project at one tenth of a second increment.
On Wednesday, January 10, the announcement of the results of the Railway Construction of the Year 2023 competition took place in the Fantova Building of Prague Main Station. In the category of modernisation of railway stations and junctions, the award went to the rebuilt Prague-Vysočany station, which has a new layout with a station hall under the railway yard, at the level of the surrounding streets. The construction is part of the optimization of the Mstětice – Praha-Vysočany track, which had been led by division 3 since 2020.
The optimization of the 15-kilometre section of a main railway track, which had been led by Division 3 since 2020, was officially completed. The ceremony took place on Thursday, December 7, at Prague-Vysočany station, whose new layout with an underground hall is the most significant part of the project. Miroslav Kadlec, director of division 3, cut the ribbon on behalf o Subterra.
On Wednesday, December 6, the modernization of the Královo Pole train station in Brno was ceremonially launched. The station will get a new building, barrier-free platforms, extended underpass, and modernized tracks. Together with division 3, OHLA ŽS, FIRESTA-Fišer and TRAMO RAIL are involved in the project, which is due for completion in 2025.
More than a year and a half after the official start, the construction of the first section of the Prague Metro D, which is being led by division 5, has reached the breakthrough and all the construction sites of the Pankrác–Olbrachtova line are now connected. The ceremonial breakthrough from the interstation tunnel to the Olbrachtova station took place on Friday, December 1, the company Subterra was represented by its general director Ondřej Fuchs.
On Friday, November 10, representatives of division 2 signed a contract with the company Hospimed for the annexe of an office building in Prague, Žižkov. The four-storey building in Malešická street will be operationally connected with the company’s headquarters and will include, in addition to offices, medical equipment service area.
