Construction of the Divoká Šárka – Dědina tram line

07/2022–10/2023

Client:
Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy, a.s.
Designer:
METROPROJEKT Praha a.s.
Contractor:
Subterra a.s.

The Prague tram line Divoká Šárka-Dědinská is an extension of the route from Evropská street, where the loop is now located, to the Na Dědině housing estate. The project will significantly improve public transport in a rapidly developing residential area. The 2.3-kilometre-long section includes five pairs of stops. Most of the route runs along the Vlastina street, whose widened profile will be partly complemented by a green belt and tree alley, while the shorter section of the track is part of the street surface. Part of the project, which in addition requires extensive earthworks, is a 150-meter-long relocation of the water supply pipeline and other engineering networks, as well as the construction of a traction substation for trams and trolleybuses.

The project was awarded the Prize as Transport Construction of the Year 2023 and also won the Prize of the Silnice Železnice magazine in the Czech Transport Construction, Technology, Innovation competition.
