On Monday, October 9, a contract was signed for the modernization of the railway station in Královo Pole, district of Brno. The contractor which includes, together with division 3, OHLA ŽS, FIRESTA-Fišer and TRAMO RAIL, will carry out the overall transformation of the station, including a new station building and the reconstruction of the railway yard together with platforms. The project should be completed in 2025.
Division 4 is taking part in the overall reconstruction of the department store Máj in Prague, which dates back to the 1970s, and since 2007 has been a cultural heritage site. The contract includes air conditioning, heating, cooling, sanitary installations, gas and stable fire extinguishing equipment. The routes on the 3rd and 4th floors are almost finished, most of the engine rooms are also equipped. In autumn, the technologies on the façade and roof will be installed.
The associated primary school for the Central Bohemian municipalities Přezletice, Podolanka and Jenštejn, called Panská pole, was inaugurated on September 4. The construction of the premises with two school buildings, gyms and a cafeteria had been led by division 2 since 2021; the technological equipment was supplied by division 4.The ceremony was attended by the director of division 2, Petr Kajer.
On Saturday, July 29, the results of the Metrostav Handy Cyklo Marathon, a charity race organized by the association Follow your Dream, were announced in Prague. The eight-member Subterra team, participated for the seventh time and improved its last year’s result by winning the 2,222-kilometer long marathon across the Czech Republic. The company’s second representative, the Subterra Cycling Team, defended its position from last year, when it participated for the first time, by finishing seventh.
Division 2 has completed the new primary school in Přezletice in Central Bohemia, which it has been managing since 2021. In addition to two educational buildings with 18 classrooms and two gyms, the complex includes a canteen that can also serve as a room for social events, as well as an outdoor sports field. Division 4 also contributed to the construction by installing technical equipment.
The construction of the 3.6-kilometer-long road tunnel, which is being carried out by division 1 and BeMo Tunnelling in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German Alps, continues. Last week, the concreting of the main tube was completed, which was closed by the portal blocks and by connecting the tunnel to the cavern. The construction also includes a ventilation shaft and an escape shaft with thirteen cross passages.
The second year of the Subterra Golf Cup took place on Thursday, June 8, at the Cihelny Golf & Wellness Resort in Karlovy Vary region. Nearly fifty players from among business partners and employees competed in two categories using the Stableford system. The best golfers were awarded by the director of division 2 Petr Kajer.
On Thursday, June 8, the gala evening of the Czech Transport Construction & Technology of the Year 2022 competition took place in the hall of the Municipal Library in Prague. The 20th year also brought awards to two projects on which Subterra worked. The prize in the category of Motorway and Road Constructions went to the roundabouts in Kladno, a project of division 4. The best transport construction carried out abroad was the Milochov railway tunnel on the Slovak Púchov-Žilina line, in the construction of which divisions 1, 3 and 4 participated.
From May 29 to 30, the Clarion Congress Hotel in Vysočany hosted the fifteenth international conference Underground Construction Prague. Subterra, the platinum partner of the event, was represented by divisions 1, 4 and 5 and selected projects from Czechia and abroad. In addition to the exhibition, lectures and poster section, the conference also included several excursions to construction sites, including the Pankrác–Olbrachtova metro D line in Prague.
