Since last September, division 3 has been participating in the modernization and electrification of a seven-kilometer long regional railway line, a branch of the main Brno–Břeclav track. The project features railway technologies, reconstruction of the track substructure and superstructure, and both stations. Construction should be finished by summer this year.
Division 2 will repair the building of Bohemia Restaurant on the Exhibition Grounds in Prague. The Neo-Renaissance building, now listed, was built for the Jubilee Exhibition of 1891. The reconstruction, which will start in June, should be completed in one year.
On February 27, daughter company SBT Sverige signed a contract for an extension of the blue metro line into the Stockholm suburbs. The Järfälla project involves construction a four-kilometer-long section, including the bored stations Barkabystaden and Barkarby. The construction should start this June and finish in 2023.
Division 2 is working on three new contracts. The revitalization of the Lhotka outdoor swimming pool in Prague will bring more comfort to visitors. Also in the capital, building of the State Printing Works of Securities, built in 1928, will get a new roof. The third construction is the extension of the rowing club in Brandýs nad Labem, with a new boathouse and garage.
After completion of the Veddesta access tunnel, the daughter company SBT Sverige was awarded three more contracts within the Stockholm metro extension. The Sundstabacken access tunnel and the Hammarby work tunnel will make possible the lengthening of the Blue Line, and the Hagastaden access tunnel will be excavated as a part of the new Yellow Line.
Two new railway machines delivered by Plasser & Theurer, a 09-4×4/4S Dynamic automatic tamping machine and a USP 2000 C2 ballast plough, were put into service for the first time at the end of February at Beroun train station. The operators of these modern machines had been trained in Linz;the plough crew already worked last year in Přerov.
Since last September, division 2 has been carrying out a general reconstruction of a secondary school in Prague-Hrdlořezy, making the three-floor building intelligent and energetically self-sufficient. The innovative project, unique in Czechia, uses modern technologies, renewable resources and environmentally-friendly materials. The modernization will be completed in 2021.
Representatives of the investor and contractor as well as local politicians from Prague 6 and Prague 13 went underground to the Šárka exploratory gallery, which is located on the track of the future Radlice road tunnel. After being acquainted with the technological parameters of the project, the guests walked through the more then one kilometer long gallery, excavated by division 1 in 2014–2018.
A ceremony on February 7 celebrated the start of construction of the Kramer Tunnel, a part of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen road bypass in the German Alps. Politicians including the Minister of Transport and representatives of the investor as well as both contractors, the companies Subterra and BeMo Tunneling, were all in attendance at the northern portal. Speeches and the traditional christening of the statue of St. Barbara were followed by the first blast.
