Since last September, division 2 has been carrying out a general reconstruction of a secondary school in Prague-Hrdlořezy, making the three-floor building intelligent and energetically self-sufficient. The innovative project, unique in Czechia, uses modern technologies, renewable resources and environmentally-friendly materials. The modernization will be completed in 2021.
Representatives of the investor and contractor as well as local politicians from Prague 6 and Prague 13 went underground to the Šárka exploratory gallery, which is located on the track of the future Radlice road tunnel. After being acquainted with the technological parameters of the project, the guests walked through the more then one kilometer long gallery, excavated by division 1 in 2014–2018.
A ceremony on February 7 celebrated the start of construction of the Kramer Tunnel, a part of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen road bypass in the German Alps. Politicians including the Minister of Transport and representatives of the investor as well as both contractors, the companies Subterra and BeMo Tunneling, were all in attendance at the northern portal. Speeches and the traditional christening of the statue of St. Barbara were followed by the first blast.
Another part of the reconstruction of the important Přerov railway junction was officially started on January 28. Three sections of rail corridor tracks forming the so-called ”Triangle” are being rebuilt by the ”Přerov“ joint venture which includes Subterra. Representatives of investor Správa železnic and contrators participated in the ceremony, in which business director Jiří Tesař and others tapped a silver rail.
The construction of the Spitzenberg Tunnel on higway A44 in Germany, carried out by divison 1 and BeMo Tunnelling since 2017, reached the ceremonial breakthrough of the western tube in mid-January. The breakthrough of the eastern tube is planned for March; the secondary lining including waterproofing is to be finished by the end of this year.
Until 2024, division 3 will be participating in the renovation of an almost 15 km-long section of the double-track railway between Lysá na Laben and Prague. The project includes the reconstruction of Prague stations Horní Počernice and Vysočany, the construction of the stop Rajská zahrada and also the renovation of part of the single-track railway from Prague to Trutnov.
At the tunnel face of the Spitzenberg highway tunnel in Germany, a ceremony honored St. Barbara, the patron saint of underground workers, on December 4. The event featured representatives of the investor and nearby municipalities as well as those of both contractors divison 1 of Subterra and BeMo Tunnelling. Only 50 meters remain until the breakthrough of this tunnel on the A44 highway.
