On Monday, September 7, the double-track Milochov Tunnel, a part of the modernized Púchov – Považská Teplá railway line, was broken through. The ceremony at the western portal featured Slovak minister of transport and construction Andrej Doležal and other guests. The 1,861-meter long tunnel, which goes through Stavná Hill, has been excavated by division 1 since 2018.
At the beginning of the school year, September 1, the new school building in Zdice was opened. The modern four-storey building, which is connected to an older object, contains twenty classrooms arranged around a hall. Division 2 had participated in the construction since 2018 and was represented at the ceremony by director Petr Kajer.
Division 3 worked on the railway in Tišnov following an accident. An express train had partly derailed the previous week. Apart from the train itself, a rail switch, safety equipment and overhead lines were damaged. To repair the rails in Tišnov, where division 3 also has an office, a new automatic tamping machine was used.
Daughter company SBT Sverige is carrying out the four-kilometre-long Skärholmen highway tunnel on the Stockholm road bypass, started in 2017. On July 20, the construction reached another breakthrough, which finalized work on the exacting section under Mälaren Lake. The two-tube tunnel should be completed in 2022.
The River City Prague complex in Karlín will be completed with two energy-efficient buildings, Mississippi House and Missouri Park, which will offer 20,000 square meters of offices. Division 4 is delivering heating and cooling, sanitary installations, ventilation and a stable fire extinguishing system for the Austrian developer CA Immo.
The reconstruction of the Přerov railway junction, where two corridor tracks intersect and form the so-called “Triangle,” is in progress. Since March, divison 3 has been working on the reconstruction of the 2nd track in the almost three-and-half-kilometre-long section between Prosenice and Přerov, which was put into operation on 15 July. A subsequent reconstruction of the 1st track will be carried out by December.
The newly built Dynín train stop was a venue for a ceremonial finish of modernization of a corridor track in South Bohemia on Monday, June 29. Construction, on 4-km long section of which division had participated since June 2018, brings higher speed and ETCS security. Also commercial director Jiří Tesař spoke at the event.
On Tuesday, June 23, works on an almost 15 km-long section of the Central Bohemia railway track were officially commenced. In addition to division 3, which will use its new machines, divisions 2 and 4 will be participating in the large construction. A ceremony with the traditional tapping of the rail, which took place in the Praha-Horní Počernice station, featured general director Ondřej Fuchs.
The construction of the double-track Milochov Tunnel in Slovakia, which is a part of the modernized Púchov – Považská Teplá railway line, is in progress. Division 1 started the complicated excavation three years ago and about 200 meters of the 1,861 meter-long tube remain. Breakthrough is expected at the end of August. The excavation of the emergency tunnel was completed in June.
