Divison 3 is participating in the large modernization of the Žilina railway junction in Slovakia, featuring the rebuilding of four stations and the 16-kilometer-long track. Now division 3 is building noise barriers and also working on the reconstruction of tracks. The building site was taken over last December, the complete modernization will take four years.
Division 3 is participating in the modernization of the 16-kilometer-long section of the railway track between Kolín and Prague, namely on the tracks in Poříčany station. Now division 3 is working on the odd track group, for the reconstruction of the track substructure and superstructure two-way excavators, sleeper layers, automatic tamping machine and other machines are employed.
On Tuesday, February 9, there was the first blast for the Žabovřeská tramway tunnel, a part of another section of the Great Brno Ring Road. The official event featured representatives from the investor and contractors. The half-kilometer-long, one-tube tunnel under the hill of Wilson Forest is being realized by division 1, the bored part will measure 335 meters.
From April, division 1 has been working for the Swedish daughter company SBT Sverige on the concreting of the secondary lining of the Skärholmen highway tunnel in the complicated section under Mälaren Lake. Two 40-meter-long tubes will have concrete structures up to 4.5 meters thick, the casting is divided into walls and a vault. The tunnel on the Stockholm road bypass should be completed next year.
Work is continuing on the two-track railway Milochov Tunnel, which is located on the Púchov – Považská Teplá line in Slovakia. Division 1 is working on both portals, realizing the overfilled section and gabion walls at the western portal, while the front wall at the eastern one has been fully concreted. The total length of the Milochov Tunnel is 1,861 meters.
In the Prague city centre, division 2 is carrying on the revitalization of the Clam-Gallas Palace, a significant baroque monument originating in 18th century. In the stables, above a fountain, a fresco was recently discovered, and after restoration it will become a part of the renovated interior. The large palace will serve for cultural and social events, and the project should be finalized next year.
Construction of the Žabovřeská Great Brno Ring Road will feature division 4 in the delivery of technological equipment. Works on the one-kilometer-long communication will be divided into two parts, the tramway tunnel and the tunnel gallery. Both phases include high-current installations, ventilation, and television and control system.
Construction of German Spitzenberg Tunnel on the A44 highway, on which division 1 and BeMo Tunnelling participate, is nearing its conclusion. In April, the upper vaults of both tunnel tubes were completed. Concreting of other parts of the tunnel, including the separating walls in the tunnel cross passages, are in progress, as well as works on both portals. The almost 600-meter-long tunnel is scheduled to go into operation next year.
Division 1 will be building a 500-meter-long tramway tunnel in Žabovřeská Street in Brno, part of another section of the Great Brno Ring Road. In February, the construction of the covered section, 163 meters in length, had started at the northern portal, on the opposite side. The overfilled section will measure 5 meters. Also, the rock has been protected by steel mesh. Excavation is planned from May.
