Client:
Správa železniční dopravní cesty, státní organizace
Designer:
SUDOP Praha a.s.
Contractor:
Metrostav a.s. and Subterra a.s.

The upgrade of almost 14 kilometres long section consisted of changes of the horizontal and vertical alignment. The result was a shortening of the line section by more than 6 km. An essential part of the project was the section between Ejpovice and Pilsen. The two-tube Ejpovice tunnel has the length of 4,150 meters and it represents the longest railway tunnel in the Czech Republic. The completion of the project allowed to increase the speed on the railway line to a maximum of 160 km/h. We have been involved in the construction of the ÖBB-PORR fixed track and also the lining of the eastern portal doorframes. It also included the upgrade of the communication and safety equipment, the construction of overhead lines and the modification of stations and stops.

The project was awarded the Prize of the State Fund of Transport Infrastructure as Building of the Year 2019 and it received also the title Building of the Year of the Pilsen Region 2018 in the category of Transport and Civil Engineering.
