Railway Line Upgrade, Section Trutnov – Teplice nad Metují

08/2015–12/2016

Client:
Správa železniční dopravní cesty, státní organizace
Designer:
PRODEX spol. s.r.o.
Contractor:
Subterra a.s.

The main purpose of the upgrade was to increase the attractivity and comfort of the 32 kilometres long regional railway line for local residents and for visitors of Adršpach-Teplice Rocks (Protected Landscape Area). We were involved in a reconstruction of 230 metres long tunnel built in 1908. The upgrade consisted of an enlargement of the cross-sectional area (using New Austrian Tunneling Method method), installation of the waterproofing foil, and of the replacement of the stone lining with reinforced concrete lining. The original stones were only used for a construction of new portal faces. We also laid down a new gravel bed and rails. At the end the works on the lighting and on the technological equipment of tunnel were carried out.
