Designer:
Ing. arch. Břetislav Plachý
Contractor:

The winter hall in Strašnice is the first ice rink built in the capital after almost fifteen years. It is used for ice hockey and figure skating. The construction was completed within one year. The building consists of two halls with ice rinks which share one entrance and the facilities – cloakrooms, gym and bistro. The bistro is overlooking one of the ice rinks. The architectural design was created by the studio “Vrtiška + Žák”. The load-bearing structure consists of a prefabricated concrete skeleton, the cladding is made of anthracite sandwich panels. The entrance part is dominated by a colourfully lit aluminium facade. The operation of the winter hall is extremely economical thanks to the high-quality insulation and advanced technical systems.

The project was awarded the title Building of the Year 2018.
