Reconstruction of COPTH Českobrodská in Prague

Subterra is the general contractor for the reconstruction of the Českobrodská Technical and Economic Training Centre in Prague. The transformation of the building from the 1970s into a smart, energy self-sufficient building is a pilot project for similar school buildings. Only the steel supporting structure of the original building has been preserved and modern environmentally friendly materials and renewable energy sources were used in the exterior and interior of the school.
The advanced elements and technologies include, for example, photovoltaic panels on mostly wooden facades and on green roofs, the heat recovery and ventilation system or the use of rain and reuse of grey water. The technical equipment also includes smart lighting and other automatic systems.
The project received the Mayor of the capital city Prague Award and the Main Media Partner Award from Stavebnictví magazine in Building of the Year 2022 competiton.
