The project includes two parallel double lane tunnels approximately 1.25 km long and two road traffic interchanges.
Tunnels are called Dobrovského I ang II. or Královopolské tunnels. Their construction will relieve traffic in two districts of Brno. Tunnel I and II are mostly bored. The rest is excavated by the cut-and-cover method. The site has very complicated geological conditions.
The new interchange of streets Žabovřeská/Hradecká will have three levels. In the lower level Large Ring Road leads to the tunnels. In the middle level a roundabout for local traffic is situated. The third level will be dedicated to a transit traffic in the West - North (to Svitavy) and South - North (from the town) directions.
Interchange Hradecká/Královopolská will have two levels. At the bottom (three meters below the current ground level) will be a signal controlled junction for a local traffic. The through traffic in the direction of Svitavy will run six meters above on bridges.
